Solar panels are an excellent fit for most office buildings, with ideal properties having large, unshaded roofs. Roof orientation and condition also play an important role, with south-facing roofs performing best, although east and west-facing systems still deliver strong results; we’ll assess your roof and advise on any necessary preparation. Offices with daytime energy use benefit most, as solar generation aligns with working hours to maximise savings. Not sure if your office qualifies? Installation varies based on the system size and complexity. We’ll arrange a date for installation that works for you, then arrive 1-2 days beforehand to erect the scaffolding if it’s required. We will then arrive on the selected day to install the panels, which typically takes a day but can take longer for larger or more complex jobs.
While the solar panel installation is taking place, the team of electricians will begin installing the cable routes, inverter and battery, which can take a couple of days. Once the system is set up, we’ll show you how to use the app and monitor the system, and within 14 days you’ll receive your MCS and electrical certificates.
Absolutely. Solar panels generate electricity from daylight, not just direct sunlight. While they produce more energy on sunny days, they still function effectively in overcast conditions which is important in the UK climate.
For safety reasons, standard grid-connected solar systems automatically shut down during power cuts to protect utility workers. However, if you add battery storage with specific backup capabilities, you can maintain power to essential circuits during outages. We can advise on backup solutions during your consultation.
Very little. Solar panels are designed to be low-maintenance, requiring only occasional cleaning to remove debris and maintain optimal performance.
Yes, with your freeholder's permission. Solar installations often increase property value, so landlords frequently welcome them. Just consider the length of your lease. For example, if you're planning on renting for several years, solar investment typically makes financial sense.
