Solar panels have a long lifespan, typically lasting 25 years or more with minimal maintenance. This long-term durability makes them a sound investment, offering reliable energy generation for decades to come.
Reduce your electricity bills and protect your business from ever-rising and unpredictable energy costs. Solar power provides a predictable energy source, allowing you to allocate resources more effectively.
Demonstrate your commitment to environmental responsibility by reducing your carbon footprint. Solar energy is a clean, renewable resource that significantly lowers greenhouse gas emissions.
The UK government often offers grants and funding to help businesses go green, both at a governmental level, as well as local council. It’s always worth checking what’s available before you install.
Gain greater control over your energy supply and reduce reliance on traditional energy sources. With a commercial solar system, your business can generate its own electricity, ensuring stability.
Berkshire is home to a diverse commercial landscape — from the industrial and logistics operations around Reading and Bracknell to the professional services firms in Windsor and Maidenhead, agricultural businesses around Hungerford, Pangbourne and Cookham, and retail or leisure operations in Ascot, Datchet and Newbury. We work with commercial clients right across the county.
What these clients have in common is a need for a solar installer who understands commercial electrical infrastructure, grid connection requirements, and the planning considerations that come with larger systems. That is precisely the background Kimble Solar comes from.
We handle every aspect of a commercial solar installation, so you deal with one experienced team from initial assessment through to system handover:
Commercial solar panels offer numerous benefits for businesses looking to invest in renewable energy solutions:
Despite the initial investment required for installation, commercial solar panels are a strong investment. Decreasing installation costs and government grants can further increase your ROI.
Commercial solar panels typically have a lifespan of 25-30 years with minimal maintenance required. As a long-term asset, they provide reliable energy generation and contribute to the future sustainability and resilience of the business.
Solar energy provides a stable and predictable source of energy, mitigating the risk of volatile energy prices and reducing the impact of utility rate hikes on operational expenses.
With ample underused open space, horticultural businesses are primed to make the best use of solar PV installations, whether roof-mounted or ground-mounted systems.
More offices are harnessing solar power by installing solar panels, enabling them to lower expenses, reduce carbon impact, and bolster corporate social responsibility.
Optimise your manufacturing premises with solar panels to make better use of empty roof space and reduce your business overheads with renewable solar power.
We install ground-mounted and on-roof solar panel systems for agricultural businesses, helping farms generate their own electricity for a more sustainable future.
Make the most of underutilised roof space on warehouses and industrial buildings with tailored solar PV systems that will enable you to power your business for free.
We specialise in creating bespoke solutions designed to meet the unique needs
of your business, from commercial objectives to energy requirements.
For most commercial properties in Berkshire with suitable roof space and daytime energy consumption, the answer is yes. The Thames Valley's solar irradiation levels are well suited to PV generation, and Berkshire businesses typically see payback periods of between 4 and 8 years on a commercial installation, with systems warranted to perform for 25+ years. The key is accurate modelling — which is why our on-site survey and detailed financial forecasting matters so much. We will not recommend a system unless the numbers genuinely support it.
This depends on a number of factors, such as the number of panels installed, the wattage of your chosen panels, their orientation. shading and so on.
As an example, 50 panels with a power rating of 300W could generate 15kW, which would generate around 80 kWh of energy each day.
It's worth remembering that solar panels still function effectively on cloudy days, in winter, and in cold weather, so installation in the UK is a very viable option.

This depends on the size of system chosen, the type of panel, panel efficiency, location, the complexity of the job, the type of installation (i.e. ground-mounted or on-roof), and more factors.
Each project is bespoke to the company involved. As an example, medium-sized business installing a 30 kWp system can expect to pay around £40,000.
It’s worth noting that there are finance packages available to help you pay for your system if required, ec0-grants are often available and that despite the up-front investment, businesses often breakeven after just 4-5 years and then enjoy totally free electricity for the next 20-25 years.
Yes, they can. If you secure your freeholder or landlord's permission, it is usually welcomed by those decision-makers. After all, the addition of panels will likely increase the value of their property.
Just take into consideration the length of your lease and if you will experience the benefits before relinquishing the property. If you are planning to rent the premises for 8 years or more, it's probably worth the investment.
We will arrange a date with suits you, and 1-2 days prior, the scaffolders will arrive to erect scaffolding if required.
Our team will arrive on the selected day and start installing the solar panels. The installation duration depends on the size of the project and can be anywhere from 1 day to 1 month or more. For the majority of SME businesses, it shouldn't take more than 1-2 weeks.
Whilst the solar panel installation team are at work on the roof, the electrician team will start installing the cable routes, the inverter and battery. The team are very considerate and will ensure minimal impact to your business. You may operate as usual throughout the installation.
Once everything is installed, the team will give you a handover, showing you how to use the app and monitor the system. You will begin generating solar energy from day one!
Scaffolding will usually come down within 3 days. Mark will update you with an ETA.
You are welcome to schedule a follow up call with Benji, to help you with any operational queries.
There are often funding opportunities for businesses looking to go green. This can be at governmental level, at local council level or even provided by charity funds. These grants and funding opportunities open and close frequently so it’s always worth checking before you make the investment.
