With so many solar installers out there, choosing the right one can be challenging. I decided it was time to move forward and shortlisted six companies with a set of questions. Out of those six, I requested four quotes — some never turned up, and others didn’t even come out to measure.

Kimble Solar were my top choice from the start, and they absolutely delivered. They arrived when promised, offered clear advice, and completed the installation quickly and cleanly.

I reached out to Kimble Solar because of my Solar and Battery needs, and the SigEnergy system was the main reason. The process was quite smooth, with Arlo visiting the site to take photos, have a chat and confirm everything. After that, we got a quote and accepted it.

A few weeks later, Benji came to do a cable route site survey and figure out how my solar panels and battery would work together wire-wise.

The team is incredibly professional, always keeping me in the loop and handling the tricky stuff, like getting in touch with my DNO and arranging scaffolding and calling to schedule the solar installation (which took just two days). We had Matt and Craig, and they were fantastic!

Setting up the app was easy, and then we were all set to go, with solar power ringing the house! I’m really happy with the service Kimble Solar provided and would definitely recommend them. I’m even thinking about adding another battery module with them!

From Start to finish Kimble have been fabulous, Brent turned up on time and ready to design a system that really impressed, he took great care in the technical survey and was very knowledgeable on the solar and Battery subject. No pressure selling, not like most of the other companies. Once designed and quoted I accepted and then the music kept on playing,  Liam and Gav the Kimble solar fitters were neat and tidy very polite and nothing was too much trouble for them. Even the scaffolding people were great both up and down quickly without any issues at all.

The system is now running Brent was very helpful on recommending the best electric tariff for me, the whole experience from start to finish was really good. The system is now live and working and in fact doing even better than Brent said it would! They were not the cheapest but it is definitely worth paying that bit extra for their service!

This company have really got to be the best in the business no wonder they won the Which Best renewable fitter of the year in 2025.
I will be recommending them to my friends and family.

After looking to solar power for a while, I was recommended Kimble Solar by a few people and they have been great! I have just signed up for installation and John has expertly navigated us through the survey phase and couldn’t have been more helpful, knowledgeable and patient with my many questions! He had no problems changing the quotes and offering useful information to fit our needs better. Always very approachable and I have felt fully informed with no pressure to commit at any time. After deciding we were going on the Solar Journey we contacted 5 companies and it was an easy decision choosing Kimble. From point of contact with Bec in the office they were clearly the favourite. John arrived and carried out the survey including Ariel footage of the roof. He then sat down with us and explained there products thoroughly and how the system would work. We opted for a 6.0kwh Sigenergy system.
On the day of Installation the Team of 4 Ash, Mark, Jason & Manny arrived promptly and we ran through where everything would be positioned. They then set about there work and by Mid afternoon the system was up and running. I am writing to express my complete satisfaction with the recent installation, by Kimbletech Ltd, of my solar energy system, consisting of 15 solar panels, a dedicated storage battery, and a high-efficiency inverter.

From the initial consultation to the final commissioning, the entire process was handled with a level of excellence that is rare to find. I would like to highlight two specific areas where the company exceeded my expectations:

We've had solar panels for years but didn't go down the battery route originally because the technology wasn't available for what we wanted. Kimble successfully bid for the Chalfont St Giles Memorial hall panel and battery installation and being a trustee I had Kimble quote for a battery for our house. The quote was extremely competitive and they were able to supply and fit the kit that we chose after extensive Youtube research. We saw a friends installation of the same kit, done some months earlier, and they were very pleased with both the Tech and Kimble as the suppliers/installer. Speed of action from Kimble was excellent, as was the communication. We had the go-ahead from the NRO within 3 weeks and the battery was fitted 2 weeks later; on a Saturday!

Despite a glitch in the commissioning, due to it being 5pm on a Saturday, with manufacture help line closed, the issue was resolved the following Monday.

The power we have generated for the past 13 years mostly went to the grid and it is a pleasure to now see it all going either into our house appliances or into the battery for use when the sun had gone down.

All we need now is to get on an electricity tariff that allows for over night cheap rate battery charging when the forecast is like it is today – Overcast!

It was clear Rob Gray really knew his stuff and we felt well advised on the best way forward. From our first contact with them, Kimble were great. There was no high pressure selling, just clear explanations and a careful assessment of what we needed and what would work in our home situation.
